Airbrush Legs! On Me!!

Shecky's Girls' Night OutHave you ever attended a Shecky’s Girls’ Night Out? I went to my first one in New York. It’s pretty much a way to see some new-to-market beauty products as well as shop for trendy jewelry and clothing, all while having a cocktail. You can try out a product sample at some of the booths. And perhaps you can score a discount coupon for a future purchase if you like what you tried.

I was pretty excited to see Sally Hansen was one of the sponsors at Shecky’s. You see, I’ve used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polish (the one in the sorta round stubby bottle) on my finger and toe nails since forever. In fact, I attribute my rock-hard nails to using Hard as Nails. Every Week. Since 6th grade. That’s brand loyalty, my friends.

Anna, my Sally Hansen beauty expert.

Anyway, I made a beeline for the booth. And was met by the smiling faces of the Sally Hansen beauty team on hand for the event. To be honest? I was a little disappointed that the evening’s focus was on “Airbrush Legs” instead of Sally’s line of nail glam, but I quickly got over it. Anna, one of the beauty specials, suggested that I try a free application of Airbrush Legs on my tights-covered legs. In a matter of minutes I slipped out of my tights (inside a conveniently located changing room) and propped my pale, pale legs on a waiting pouf.

Anna used the lotion on my gams.

Let me tell you, it took Anna no time at all to apply. The lotion, which is what she used on me (versus a spray, which is also available) went on smoothly. Streak free. And it has only the faintest whiff of fragrance to it (I’ve smelled some other tanning products that I wouldn’t wear if you paid me…they stink that bad). The very cool thing? The product dried almost instantly. And my legs were pale no more. They took on a subtle golden glow. And the glow actually masked some skin imperfections! So it’s a double bonus: tan and camouflage!

left leg: pale original; right leg: subtle golden glow

Anna used the lightest of the four shades on me. Because I am really pale. I figure that if I want to go darker I could use “medium” next time. I came away from the booth with subtly tan legs and a coupon for $2 off a future purchase Airbrush Legs. You know what? I didn’t get anything you can’t get by just clicking here. Sally Hansen offers the same $2 coupon on its web site.

Nice, huh?

Nice, huh? Note my new (more on this later) 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target purse on the floor.

So what did you do last Thursday night?!

What a fun adventure! I’ve considered using these types of products in the past, but balked for the same reasons you mentioned (smell, streaks, etc.) Will now have to give it a go, though. Thanks for sharing your experience!

    • Barb, I was amazed at the short dry time. I had a girlfriend who used a self tanner and it took forever to dry and she looked like a striped bass when it did. Not my look! Or yours!!

    Lookin’ good, Darlene! Sounds fun!
