Austin, Texas: The Pub Crawler

A great 2nd story porch: People watching from above.

My husband Mike and I were having a drink and hanging out on the second-floor porch at Opal Divine’s last Tuesday night when this vehicle rolled up and parked in front of the bar/restaurant. We’d never seen anything like it before. Have you?

It looks like an overgrown bicycle, but it's a bar on wheels.

We burst out laughing. Take a closer look. It has seats and pedals. It’s a bar on wheels, only the patrons are the ‘motor!’

How many of your friends would it take to pedal this thing? Okay. How many of your friends would it take to pedal this thing around Austin while drinking beer?

Seats? Check. Bartender? Check. Pedals? What?!

We watched to see if anyone would climb aboard and pedal off into the night, visiting bar after bar, pedaling. We didn’t have long to wait before we saw this crowd hop on and pedal off. Take a close look at the patrons. They look old enough to know better than to try this, at least in my opinion! The concept just boggles my mind!

These folks look old enough to know better!
