Texas drivers think nothing of starting from a dead stop on an auxilliary road then ripping across 3 lanes of traffic to hit a "turnaround." No signals. No nerves. Lots of speed.

Ahhhh. Yessss.

No deadlines.

We are relaxed. Or should I say my husband Mike and I relaxed all day Monday at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch.

We spent the day in a private pavilion overlooking the lazy river being, well, lazy. We sunned ourselves. We read. We talked. We napped.

Mike spent most of the day under the protective ceiling of the pavilion. See the curtains you can pull for privacy/cut down on the sun?

I spent most of the day sunning myself in this lounger, adjacent to Mike's private paradise.

We went ’round and ’round the lazy river, which thankfully had its water feature turned off; I didn’t have to paddle like a madwoman to avoid getting drenched by water cannons and the like.

Our toughest choice on Monday: Do we take the left branch or the right on the lazy river.

We rested up and went to bed early so we could drive to Austin today.  Our destinations: Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and downtown Austin. Here are a couple of photos to whet your appetites!

Truth or Legend? They definitely grow the largest coneflowers I've ever seen right here in Texas.

We ate lunch at Opal's today; first time I ever had pepper fries. Good!

  1. That lazy river looks amazing! I think I’d plop my bottom in a tube and float the day away. Glad you’re having a relaxing time!
